I am joining a 98 client to my 2000 domain. I can see the
PC in AD but can't get the users' home folder
automatically mapped. I can map a drive to it but I need
my users to see their home folders at logon. If the user
logs onto an xp or 2000 box he gets his home folder.

I think I've got all my 2000 stuff set up correctly in
terms of user profiles and home folder mappings but need
to figure out getting the 98 stuff working.

Any advice?

Hi

I was wondering if you figured it out, because I am having
the same problem, I have windows 2K, and 98, I can see
from 2K to 98 but not the other way around.
Any ideas why?, know this is microsoft authentication issue
but any solutions?

Thanks

Eric

Windows 98 does not support mapping to a folder in a share, only to a share
itself. If their home folders are set up like:

\\server\share\user1
\\server\share\user2
\\server\share\user3

You can't map Windows 98 to \\server\share\user3, only to \\server\share ...
