The D-Link DI-624 that I have is Atheros based. Since it's revision C,
it has the channel bonding technology to deliver twice the speed of
regular G. It does work. Great speed! I am using it in G only mode
with Dynamic Turbo option (SuperG). The access cards are D-Link's G
based as well so they support SuperG as well.
I re-hooked my Linksys BEFW11S4 (802.11B) router to service two of my
laptops for two reasons: a. both don't have WPA capability in their
access cards, and b. I didn't want the whole of G setup suffer because
of these B accesses.
I have noticed that whenever there is wireless activity on the G side,
the traffic on the Linksys router just stops for the full duration.
I am using channel 6 on the D-Link (the only channel you can select if
wanting SuperG mode). And on the B side I am using channel 11 (I tried
other channel numbers as well but none helped).
This is consistent with findings on various websites as well.
