It's not normally done in this newsgroup. Personally, I would not have any
problem with someone posting an occasional "for sale", or "for trade" item
in any newsgroup, provided it was related to the subject of the newsgroup.
It's good of you to ask however, as some people get their panties in a bunch
over things like this! See what shakes out.

As soon as you post your deal, this will become a business arena, thousands
of people trying to sell and trade their equipment.
Better try the marketplaces, like Ebay and others.
You perhaps can innocently comment "by the way" here that your product is on
trade there.

Oh yeah, and then just as soon as he posts his "by the way" comment
thousands, no, millions of people will suddenly begin posting "by the
way" posts about equipment they are selling on ebay, and the group
will be just flooded with them. In fact, it will instantly generate
so much internet traffic it may bring the servers down and interrupt
the entire internet for days!

Ebay says no advertizing on usenet or they will pull your account. Read
your TOS with ebay. You are giving bad advice.
