Hi all,

I'm having a frustrating time with setting RRAS to be a VPN endpoint.
I had it all set and working nicely, but after a crash I needed to reinstall everything from scratch.
All services that I need run fine with the exception of RRAS.

I recieve the following error:
__________________________________________________ ___________
Could not start the Routing and Remote Access Service on Local Computer.

Error 1058: The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.
__________________________________________________ ___________

My system hasn't changed in any way.

help. please. thankyou.

Hi Glenn --

Sounds like the best course is to uninstall RRAS and then reinstall and
reconfigure it. Also check Device Manager to make sure your NICs are
recognized and working properly.

Thanks for the quick response James. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled a number of times. My nics are fine (the server is ad/dc and exchange 2k3 - all humming along nicely) I'll give it one more try today before scrapping the lot and starting again. any further ideas would be most welcome.

Regards,
