Hi
I am looking into the possibility of securing our Microsoft VPN server using
smart cards utilising the inbuilt Microsoft 2003 servers PKI (Windows
Certificate Services).
So far I have:
*Installed Microsoft Certificate Services
*Added in the Additional certificate types
*Set-up an enrolment station.
However when I attempt to issue a card for a user via the certificate
services web site and select the option to write a card I get the infomous
"An unexpected error occurred. Error: Please insert the user's smart card."
I have managed to find a certifed GemPlus PC430 card reader for the
enrolment station however I am unsure which Smartcard(s) to use and suspect
the issue lies here.
Looking on the Microsoft site they list several cards however these look as
if they are no longer manufactured.
Gemplus: GemSAFE 4k/8k
Infineon: SICRYPT v2
Schlumberger: Cryptoflex 4k/8k/16k
Can someone give me a pointer as to which smartcards I need to get this to
work?
Kind Regards
Lee.
