I installed SP2 on a Dell laptop with XP Home and a D-Link DWL-650
wireless access card. When I attempt to set the wireless Encryption
key settings, in D-Link not Windows), the settings are retained by
the D-Link configuration program until I power off or hibernate the
laptop. When I reactivate the laptop, the card can see the router but
can not talk to it until I re-enter the correct KEY. Thus, I can not
make the program retain the Encryption settings!
The only workaround has been to deactivate encryption and tell my
router to only accept the one MAC address. This is an OK short term
solution, but I need to reactivate Encryption!
This was not an issue with the same driver under SP1.
I reinstalled the D-Link drivers, but no improvement.
Can not tell if this is an SP2 issue or a D-Link issue.
Also, this is talking to a Netgear Mr814V2 router.
