How long after activation of an exchange (Glenrothes Centrla, 5 Nov) does
BT set the HH conversion date?

And is there any BT page listing this?

Normally about 10 days.

You can see if anything appears at
https://www.cs-server1.bt.com/hhway-...UM=...&TELNUM=...

Replace ... with your BT customer number and telephone number - that might
come up with something... but really your ISP should tell you.

Hi
Its normally 7 days after the activation date. As long as there is a slot
free for the engineer to call.

Word of warning though if you want to keep your second alog number as call
sign. This seems to cause confusion and can take a few days to get working.
They may even try to not let you keep it. They didnt want me to keep mine
till i told them it was a very busy fax line and i wouldnt be able to let
people know the number change, Then they agreed straight away.

Ian

They say they will, in a few days.
I'm just feeling a tad impatient right now.

Good news - I may have misread your question...

Approx 10 days after exchange conversion is normally when the conversions
actually happen.

A date should be available well before then - many people get it before the
RFS date is reached...

I see you are with Demon - if you are going to get ADSL with them also -
well they don't have the best reputation for handling ADSL orders - normal
as well as HH Conversions..

Regards
Sunil

Or billing, mail, non insane news-servers, ...
I decided definitavely against demon after spending around 20 hours
chasing bugs in my newsreaders source code and finding later that it
was bugs in the servers.
My demon account will be being reduced to the most basic service,
and used solely for backup and email continuity.

I'm going with plusnets 1Mb service.
Though I'd really like some of bulldogs 512K upstream services, last time
I checked, Glenrothes isn't a london suburb...

Plusnets 'status' page says:

"Provisioning of your ADSL Account Information
New Action ISDN Conversion Date Not Yet Confirmed added
As part of the ISDN Conversion to ADSL on this account,
this order can not progress until we have received a
conversion date from BT"

And they say they'll review the status on Nov 4.
