I'm having trouble installing MS iSCSI Initiator on Server 2000 acting as a
File Server. It reports "An error occurred while setting security for the
WMI interfaces. A required privilege is not held by the client."
I've tried the suggestions included in the included Documentation with no
help. I've also looked at MS iSCSI "support" page, but appearantly the
document included there is no longer available for download.
Any one know any other tricks?

-FSEPG

ps. The included solution is a reg hack resetting WMI security

Try the following on the server and then reboot:

1. Click Start, click Run, type "cmd" (without the quotation marks),
and then press ENTER.

2. Type "secedit /configure /cfg %windir%\repair\secsetup.inf /db
secsetup.sdb /verbose" (without the quotation marks), and then press
ENTER. You receive a "Task is completed" message, and a warning message
that something could not be done. You can safely ignore this message.
For more information about this message, view the
%windir%\Security\Logs\Scesrv.log file.

HTH,
Gary

Check \Program files\Microsoft iSCSI Initiator\uguide.doc There is a section
in there that tells you some registry values to delete. Uninstall the iSCSI
initiator, delete the values it says to delete, reboot, then reinstall the
iSCSI initiator -- worked for me on a Win2K SP3 server.
