Hi,

Vista SP1 with all updates.

In Device Manager under "Network adapters", I have "isatap.zxcv.com".
(You have to show hidden devices.)
Does anyone know what this is?

The driver for it is "tunnel.sys" signed by Microsoft, so what is this
zxcv.com reference?

Is this spyware?

Thanks,
ED.

I did and got no response.

I'm sure this isn't limited to Vista.

If you know what this is, then how about some help?

Hello Ed,

On my Vista mahcine they also exist, not with zxv.com but with a GUID number.
As far as i can see, it has to do with IPv6 included with all the tunnel
adapters also displayed when run a ipconfig /all. So it is no spyware.

Best regards

As Meinolf pointed out, this is not spyware. It is a tunnelling protocol
and is part of IPv6. If you want more detail, simply google ISATAP. If
you want more info on zxcv.com, google that.

I did research it before posting. I know ISATAP is part of IPv6, but could
not find anything to tie it to zxcv.com. Hence my reason for posting.

You say it's not spyware, yet zxcv.com seems to be registered to someone in
South Korea (+82 country code).

Checking open tcp/udp ports, the system and the browser are using this.

So what exactly is going on here and why is it installed as a hidden network
adapter?
