Hi,

I have the following scenario.

Main Site [All Windows Server 2003)
2 x DCs [GC, DNS, DHCP], 1 x Exchange Server, 1 x file Server and 1 x ISA2004
Subnet Range: 10.0.1.x using 255.255.255.0 as subnet mask.

Remote Site:
1 x DC [GC, DNS]
Subnet Range: 10.0.3.x using 255.255.255.0 as subnet mask.

I have to establish connectivity between the Main Office and remote site to
enable replication to occur between the DCs and also have users access files
and email at the Main Office.

The ISA2004 Server at the main office has been setup as a VPN and RRAS [LAN
routing enabled]

The remote DC function will be for AD, DNS, RRAS and NAT.

--------------------

How do I configure the remote DC, RRAS box to achieve the results expected.

PS! The use of an ISA2004 server at the remote site is a not an option
because of budget constraints.
My manager insists that this is a viable option, and i'm not sure how to
acheive it.

Highly appreciated

This is tricky because of the way ISA works. To create a LAN to LAN VPN
link with ISA server you do it from ISA , not from RRAS. The wizard creates
a file to configure the server at the "other" site. This is fine if the
other router is ISA but no help for RRAS.

But it should be possible. You would need to configure the site which
has a RRAS server according to the instructions for setting up a LAN to LAN
link in RRAS. It isn't really a great idea to use a DC as a router and
remote access server. It can cause all sorts of problems. See KB 292822 .
