I want to network them using IPX protocol to run some of my older games
which will only use IPX, namely Diablo.

Using the IPX protocol, initially the XP computer could not see itself or
the ME computer in the game lobby whilst the ME computer could see itself,
the XP computer and the messages both computers were typing to each other
(The XP computer could not see its own msgs).

This I solved by reinstalling the IPX compatible protocols on the XP
computer and removing any unnecessary bindings. Also I set both computers to
use network address 00000002 and Frametype 802.2

Both computers can now communicate to each other using dxdiag's directplay
testing and games they create can be seen by the other computer and for the
games that have a lobby outside 'the create game' lobbies they can still
communicate with each other

HOWEVER when I want to join these games, I am unable to. Diable has a
different response where I can join the game however it times out as soon as
I join the game.

I have tried everything I can think of

Can anyone help??

Thankyou for your time

Some more infomation:

* I am using a network cable to network the two computers together (The blue
ones)

* The windows ME computer has three adapters, Dialup Adapter (Bound to TCP
only), the main network adapter {Realtek RTL8029(AS)-based PCI Ethernet
Adapter} (TCP, NetBEUI and IPX w/ NetBIOS support) and a third network
adapter {Realtek RTL8139/810X Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC} which is not
being used (and is not bound to anything- but still installed)

* IPX and NETBIOS Support for the ME computer is bound to the CLient for
Microsoft networks but not File/Printer Sharing

* The XP Computer has a SIS 900-Based Fast Ethernet Adapter bound to (TCP,
IPX, TCPv6 and NETBIOS)

* IPX for the XP computer is bound to the Client for Microsoft networks but
not File/Printer Sharing

Hopefully someone can help me
