IPv6 Questions

I am trying to figure out which way the industry is going with regard to
configuration of hosts. Are DHCPv6 and SLPv2 alternatives or are they
complementary? If they are alternatives in doing the same thing, which
one is more commonly used?

Also, under IPv6 is the BOOTP protocol the preferred way to net-boot? I
don't see an option under DHCPv6 to provide the name or address of a
boot server.
