was just reading about Yahoo turning up IPv6 for testing,
and having a day - June 8 -

http://www.networkworld.com/news/201...ahoo-ipv6.html

To make a IPv6 connection,
doesn't every node, router, stack
have to be IPv6 or how does it work with IPv4 ??
Can it go....

PC with v6 -> v4 -> v4 -> v4 -> Yahoo with v6 ?

Is there any ISP that is handing out IPv6 addresses ?
and what about all the hardware ??

Simplified, the IPv6 packets would need to be encapsulated into IPv4
packets before being able to traverse the IPv4 network. I doubt if the
required gateways are in place to make it happen end to end, but I
don't know.

Here's a link describing a How To for getting IPv6 connected.

As you would expect,
you need a proxy, gateway, tunnel, etc
to transport your IPv6 across the v4 world
until it dumps off into the v6 world.
