pp. 187-8 of _Linux Firewalls_, 3rd ed (Suehring and Ziegler):

"User-defined chain names can be up to 30 characters in length.
"User-defined chain names can contain hyphens (-) but not underscores (_)."

Are those both true? I did a reasonably thorough WWW and USENET search on
the second, and came up with no evidence for it ("no underscores")
whatsoever.

TIA

I have some chains with names containing underscores, so works with
at least some versions. But perhaps works only by luck.
