Iptables - nat and internet access from server

Hi,
i've got a home lan and used iptables to setup a firewall and nat
server (actually it's a multi-purpose home server).
I configured it and can access the internet without problems from the
in-lan computers. Also, i can reach the server from the internet and
perfom ssh without any problems.
The problem appears when i try to connect from this server direct to
the internet: i've received absolutly nothing!!

any clues?

You'd better mention the details about iptables settings on the server; how
nat is set, and whether ip-masquerading is correctly set (it sounds fine
though) etc.etc..
