Hi

As modules iptables been removed from kernel 2.6.18 ?

how do we setup NAT and firewall now?

What gives you that idea?

It's in two sections:

¦ ¦ --- Network packet filtering (replaces ipchains)
¦ ¦ [ ] Network packet filtering debugging (NEW)
¦ ¦ Core Netfilter Configuration --->
¦ ¦ IP: Netfilter Configuration --->

never mind... iptables are there, but there is a new option (called xtables)
that if it's not enabled, desable all iptables stuff.
(i hope i get kernel config fine this time)

there is also a new "ebtables" stuff

old kernel configs don't serve for 2.6.8 config, it must be checked step by
step... i did do a make oldconfig using config file from 2.6.14 and end up
without the iptables modules.
