IPSEC vs SSL

Hi,

i must encrypt the traffic across a client and a server LDAP and i
try SSL or IPSEC .
What advised to me?
For the LDAP performance i better install SSL or IPSEC ?

SSL is an application layer protocol, so that is probably not a choice.
IPSec can be setup between Microsoft products to handle any protocol.

Microsoft's IPSec implementation should interop with other IPSec
implementations as well since it is an IETF standard. Although most
companies do have some minor differences or additions which are specific to
their scenarios that they support.
