Hello,

I have installed freeswan 2.04 and have encountered the following problem.
The program is trying to execute the command "hostname" with parameter
"--fqdn". But after checking the command syntax, it has no such parameter.
One can either put no parameter and the command returns the current name of
the host, or one can enter some text and that text becomes the name of the
host. So when, for example, I start "ipsec verify", ipsec starts at some
point the command "hostname --fqdn" and my hostname changes to "--fqdn".
What can I do? If I am posting on the wrong group, please excuse me.

Best regards,

Pawel Banys

Well -- mybe try a different hostname (version)
SuSE 7.x and 8.2 have the flag. From "man hostname":

dnsdomainname - show the system's DNS domain name
nisdomainname - show or set system's NIS/YP domain name
ypdomainname - show or set the system's NIS/YP domain name
nodename - show or set the system's DECnet node name

SYNOPSIS
hostname [-v] [-a] [--alias] [-d] [--domain] [-f] [--fqdn]
[-i] [--ip-address] [--long] [-s] [--short] [-y] [--yp]
[--nis] [-n] [--node]
