Hello and thanks for reading. I apologize if this has already been
covered, but I did a quick search and turned up empty handed.

I am trying to setup IPCop with my DSL Connection which will have
multiple static IP address. Before I start going into multiple
addresses I would like to get just one up and going.

I have tried to setup a GREEN + ORANGE + RED in IPCop. The ORANGE
interface is solely for a print server which is to receive port 515.
Currently at another location we have a Linksys Router that I have
setup using its port fowrarding to port 515. I am trying to replicate
this on the IPCop. My thinking was this:

dsl connection -->
RED (123.123.123.2)
|
[ IPCop ]
|
-----------------
| |
GREEN ORANGE*
(10.10.0.X) (10.10.0.50)
|
LAN PCs

*Note I gave the ORANGE interface one of my local IP Addresses.

I guess I have several questions:

1) I gave the ORANGE interface one of my local IP addresses - is this
correct or am I supposed to give it one of the public IP addresses?

I attempted to setup a port forward. In IPCop I went to Firewall |
External access configuration. I left Source IP blank and left
destination IP to Default IP. I made destination port 515. I then
went to Firewall | Port Fowarding configuration. I left Alias IP as
Default IP, made source IP 515, made destination IP 10.10.0.51 (IP of
my print server), made destination port 515 as well.

I attempted to use windows lpr to send a test job:
lpr -S 123.123.123.2 -P BLAH sample.txt

The print job did not go through. I saw in the Firewall log that
windows used port 721 - so I repeated the port forward except source
port 721 destination port 515. Attempted the same lpr statement above
- same result.

I than added an alias thinking that I couldn't use the Default IP.
The alias created was 123.123.123.3. I then recreated the Port
Forward with the exception that the Alias IP was set to the
123.123.123.3. Still no go.

Eventually I wouldn't mind to have multiple print servers, but of
course that depends on getting the first up and going.

I would greatly welcome any advice or information especially a HowTo
or something very similar. Thanks in advance -
Michael
