I have set up a wireless network using the mn-700 as my
base-access point. My IPAQ "sees" the signal but will not
connect. I am using a socket lan card in my IPAQ. Does
anyone have any ideas?

When you say, won't connect, what steps are you taking to try to get it to
connect? You have to set the iPAQ up to use the internet and to use your
connection. You will have to enter any WEP key you might have.

It connects everywhere else. I can go to a wi-fi hot spot
and the connection comes right up, I hit connect and im
in. I have set up my home networking system using this
mn700 base station as both a router and an access point.
the Ipaq can see the signal, but I get no strength
indicator signal. My sense is there is just a switch
somewhere I have not yet flipped....the ipaq'a auto
feature shows me that it has the web key in place.

This is what is says when I try to set up a different
name for the IPAQ..:

Important Be sure to establish the same wireless network
name on each device that you connect to the base station.
You can set the wireless network name for devices that
use a Microsoft adapter from the Broadband Network
Utility.

What do you mean different name for the iPAQ, you should be setting up the
WiFi connection on the iPAQ and not on your router, and you switch between
profiles depending on where you're trying to connect. I don't have an ipaq
anymore so I don't remember all the setup steps, try the
Microsoft.public.pocketpc news group.
