IP6 - any speed advantage now?

Hello,

I'm wondering if there is any advantage of adding IP6 to my servers. My
workstations are all Windows XP SP2, my servers are all Windows X64 R2 SP2.
I was wondering if there would be any speed gain in my backups between my
backup server and my other servers. I don't know squat about IP6 so don't
be shy about "talking down" to me as I have much to learn.

Thanks

There are no speed gains using IPv6, it's just a different, larger-space
addressing scheme. Going to Gigabyte Ethernet would provide speed gains
though, if you upgrade everything (cables, NICs, routers, switches, etc)
