Hey Jesse,
I know what you mean about being driven crazy by these
type of issues.
I wish I had an answer for you but I don't and am in
fact, having the same exact problem with one machine in
my network. NOTHING changed at that machine and one day,
it cannot resolve DNS. I feel like I am caught in a time
warp or something because I too KNOW that all
the "normal" settings are correct.
I have posted on Expert's Exchange and have had a few
ideas thrown at me but none have worked.
Here is what has been ruled out:
Connectivity; as I can ping, pathping and tracert to IP's
all over the world, inside and outside and out of my
domain.
Let me know if you find anything out and I'll do the
same!
Todd
