I'm trying to setup ip masquerading for sharing a dialup on an intel box
with redhat 9. Once connected I use ifconfig to get the isp's ip number, and
can ping this from the client pc, running windows or linux, without any
problems. But the browser cannot find the internet.

What am I overlooking?

tia,
Snuffy

Did you properly set up DNS server options in client computers?

Like Adam said, try to ping yahoo.com and see if an ip resolve.

If not, you need DNS addresses configurd on client PC.

If yes, check for iptables forwarding on RedHat box.

Ciao
