Hi

Here's my situation- I have a Mobotix M1M camera (www.mobotix.com) and
it's upstairs of our house. I have it attached into the WAN port of a
Netgear WGR514 router. I want this router to talk to the main router
downstairs and allow the broadcast of the camera. Conversely, I'd like
the upstairs router to act as a repeater for the network.

Can someone help me configure this setup?

The Camera's IP is 192.168.1.101~ it has a factory default of
10.0.98.254 but the 192.168.1.101 works fine.
The Upstairs Router is 192.168.1.1
The downstairs router is 192.168.0.1

Any help is mucho appreciated..

~B

Why is the camera connected to the WAN port ?

Why are you using two Routers ?

Simplify your network to ONE Router.

Thanks for the reply David.

OK that answers my question regarding which port the camera is
supposed to be plugged into.

The reason for two routers is the fact that running a cable to the
downstairs router is a major pain in the posterior. However, if this
is what needs to happen then I suppose that's the way it's gotta go.

I was hoping to have the upstairs router act as a bridge of sorts.

Again, why? <g>

If you have multiple devices upstairs, use a hub or swtich, not a
router. You're making things much more complicated than they have to
be! (But you still have to run at least one line upstairs, otherwise
how would they talk to each other!)

For some strange reason I thought that one router would see the other.
I've got it taken care of though, as I'm having the construction team
come in and run a network cable through the walls and down to the
router (what I was trying to avoid).

Thanks for all the insight nonetheless. Your time is valued.
