Hallo,

I want to setup ipbased virtual hosting one a server behind a router.
The server has one physical interface and one virtual interface. Both
with private ips. For instance 192.168.0.2 and 192.168.0.3 where x.2
is the physical interface. The router routes all requests to port 80
and 443 to the x.2 interface. Is there a way how x.2 can decide that a
request for www.example.com is rerouted to the ipbased virtual host
x.3? Name based virtual hosting doesn't fit my needs because I need a
https connection on x.3.
Does someone has an idea?
So long
Markus

If every request is routed to the .2 ip, you will never get a request
on .3.

So? What's the problem in doing that with name based vhost?

You want to make a decision on the basis of the name, but don't want
it to be name-based??????????

I'm assuming that you want https on .3 because you already have https
on .2 and want a second https connection.

The simplest way is to have two different external ip addresses.
Route one to .2 and the other to .3.
