Intranet mail server

Hallo!

I want to configure my network so i can use pop3 and smtp in my local
network. I dont need an internet connection, only local! I use a linux
suse 9.1 pro machine and the other machines are windows pcs. On the
linux machine i have configured Kmail and works fine sending and
receiving mail via pop3 / and sendmail. But when i try to contact the
servers with an windows pc via the tcp network then i get error
messages. Which services have i to configure? popper is installed. mailx
works to in the shell. Has someone in idea to help me?

Try using telnet from the windows box to connect to the POP3 port. If
you get a response from the server then mail client setup is wrong.
Otherwise you need to look at your networking setup.

telnet pop3.mynetwork 110
