AFIAK the firmware needs to be loaded each time the card is powered
up. You can try using the firmware from Knoppix, it should be called
/usr/lib/hotplug/firmware/isl3890. You can also get it from
prism54.org.
I don't use windoze much so I can't tell you where to put the firmware
there, except it's called something.arm.
