Hi i've got kind a strange problem. There is an existing network (8
comps - lets name them:comp1,comp2,..., comp8) connected to a DSL via
crapy router (ASMAX BR 604 Broadband Router). All works vell. Some time
ago i wanted to add one more computer(comp9 :P).The idea was to not
connect it directly to the router. I bought network cards, and cable.
Pluged cards and cable to comps 8 and 9. After some effort comp9 was
able to acces the internet. The final configuration:

comp8:
bridged two connections (static ip, and local gate is of course a
router 192.168.2.1)
a)to the router
b)to the comp9

comp9:
a)to the comp8 - with automatic ip assignation

I didn't use other software to share interenet connection.

Internet works fine, but i need this two comps to communicate threw a
local network(i need it for fiele/printer sharing and mayby for games).
When i pinging comp8 from comp9 i get response (always 1 of 4 packages
is wasted). But comp8 cant see comp9! Any ideas how to make it works?
Both comps r WinXP. If u need more information i'll be glad to write
it.

Sry for english, and thanx.

The most likely problem is that a firewall on comp9 is blocking access
from comp8. It could be WinXP's built-in firewall, or it could be a
firewall program from Norton, McAfee, ZoneAlarm, PC-cillin, Sygate,
etc. Configure the firewall to allow access by other computers on the
local area network.
