Hello mahmoudmga,

If you have a DSL connection with a router to the internet, i strongly recommend
to connect all machines to a switch and the switch to the router. After that
configure the internal DNS server with FORWARDERS to the ISP's DNS server.

Best regards

Hello mahmoudmga,

Especially a Domain controller should not use 2NIC's with diferent ip addresses,
except it is a SBS version from windows. Please describe your network hardware,
switches and routers etc. How do you connect to the internet?

Best regards

Get a router/firewall appliance. Don't use dual NICs. Don't use Internet
Connection Sharing.

This machine connected to internet via ADSL modem that connected
directly to 2nd lan card.
first lan card connected to my lan (win2003 server, integrated
AD ,Dns , Static IP)
client os: Winxp 2003 Sp3.
i used hub switch 24Port D-link for networking.
what is the meaning of : "SBS version from windows" ?
more describe required?

Hello mahmoudmga,

SBS - Small Business Server, a smaller version from MS included with Exchange
ISA server and SQL depending on the version you buy for up to 75 users. The
SBS has for any configuration operation wizards available. This version is
the only one, which you should connect directly to the internet, no other
ones.

I would buy a small router and connect the ADSL modem to it and not directly
into the Domain controller. With this kind of configuration your DC is full
reachable over internet, what you should prevent.

Best regards

Hello mahmoudmga,

I did not suggest to install ISA or anything else. You asked what SBS is
and i gave you the description what SBS includes.

My suggestion is this, as in the posting before:

I would buy a small router and connect the ADSL modem to it and not directly
into the Domain controller. With this kind of configuration your DC is full
reachable over internet, what you should prevent.

Best regards

My ISP Said : ADSL modem is a router that configured in bridge mode,
and i connect it to 2nd NIC card directly.
i want to share this connection with another machine
expect this way what is your suggestion?
Connect ADSL router to a switch and both machines connect to this
switch with 2nd NIC card.
