How come clients cannot initialise internet dial up in network using
ICS in win98 ? Please advise.

I believe your motherboard/modem would have to have the Wake on Lan option

You need to tell the ICS host computer to dial out automatically. You'll
find this option under the Connections tab of the Internet Options icon in
your Control Panel.

Try opening internet explorer, go to tool, Internet options when Internet
Options opens, click on the tab along the top that says connections. Ensure
your dial up connection you want to use is set as default. Then select the
option "always dial my default connetion"
