I have bought 2 wireless network adapters and set up a file sharing lan
between my p.c and my sons p.c.We can share our files, printers, play games
against each other no problem. Both p.cs are on win 98. Not SE though. Now
heres where I need help. My p.c is connected to the internet using cable
broadband via a set top box provided by my cable t.v operator.I can access
the internet using the provided connection o.k but is it possible for the
other p.c to share the same connection via my p.c over our LAN with the
wireless adapters. I have tried looking for a knowledged based article but
the only one I can find says look in the details of ADD/REMOVE programs area
and select ICS but I can not find ICS on my ADD/REMOVE programs details.
Please help.

ICS is included only with the Second Edition of Win98 and later OSes.

ICS can be very challenging to set up and even once set up, can maintain a
challenge keeping it's configuration striaght. You see spyware, viruses and
installing other software can quite often 'break' ICS forcing you to start
all over.

If you have a cable modem, I highly recommend you purchase a router. You can
pick one up for $40 or less at any computer store or online. A router will
not only allow you to share you Internet, it will also allow you to share
files and printers as well as act as a firewall for all PCs connected to it
to help keep the bad guys out.

In most cases you just plug it in and no further configuration is
necessary...EVER.
