OK tell it to me like I don't know anything (or point me to the FAQ). I
have system A, win 98, connected to the internet via a 10/100 Ethernet card
and a cable modem. Now I have a new computer and also some type of network
router box a friend gave me. I want to hook up the new computer to the same
cable internet service. It's a Netgear Wireless Router MR814v2. I've tried
simply plugging both lines into this, but I got no connection. What needs
to be done exactly? thanks.

I suggest going to Netgear's site, downloading the manual, reading it,
and following its instruction. Or get the manual from your friend.
