If I were you I would post this same question in the DNS forum.
You can change your network to run static ip but you would have to configure
each client manually, and yes once everything was set up properly you would
work fine. I don't recommend doing this, DHCP is always the way to go if
possible. Lets get back to the beginning, we need to see if your computer is
having problems with name resolution, or is the server having problems
sending info back to your client. Run tracert to from a working client and
the non working client to the
www.yahooo.com, and then to the ip address
68.142.197.85. That ip is is Yahoo's ip address. Please post those results,
if the first one fails but not the second then we know its all in the dns.
If both fail, its and actual networking/ip problem.
