Hello all,
I have a desltop PC with the USB Orinoco wireless and the AVaya
Wireless PC Card for my laptop. I've had this setup for over 1 1/2
years now. However, the problem I have has been for almost a year if
I can remember. I have the 2 computers connected in a peer to peer
fashion, that is without an access point. I have an ADSL Router
connected directly to my desktop and access the Internet from my
laptop via the wireless connection.
The problem is, I think it may have started when I got the most recent
drivers for the cards (Winter 2002), but I"m not sure if that's it.
Internet access on my laptop doesn't weem to work too well. The 2
computers can see each other and I can transfer files OK, but when I
open up Internet explorer on my laptop, everything's fine for a couple
of moments, the page loads fine. But, after a couple of minutes,
sometimes less than a minute, when I try accessing a new Web page, it
just hangs for a while, like it's downloading extremely slow. Many
times, it just times out or the page only partially downloads, before
timing out. I remember when I first purchased this hardware, Internet
access was fine. The only thing I can possibly attribute this to is
the new drivers, but I"m not sure if that's the problem. Anyon else
have issues like this. Your help is greatly appreciated.
