Internet Explorer problem...

I was hoping someone maybe able to help.

I keep having a problem with Internet Explorer 6 whereby the browser window
keeps closing when I visit certain websites (www.cw.com and www.langreen.com
for example). The page begins to load then the browser window closes. No
error messages are reported.

I am using XP with SP2. I have anti virus software installed and up to
date. I've scanned my system with anti-spyware tools, etc. and nothing is
found.

Now before you all start suggesting an alternative browser - I have (Mozilla
1.7) and the same happens. I'm now using Netscape 7.2 which doesn't suffer
this problem, but I want to know why this problem occurs with the other
browsers.

Any ideas?

Tell me about it! I have exactly the same problem - and I'm only on SP1. I
have 2 PC's - a desktop and a laptop - both on XP Home SP1, both on IE6
patched to the same level. The desktop machine suffers from this problem,
the laptop doesn't!

I've looked on the Microsoft Knowledge Base for a solution - and that
identifies one or two similar problems, and specifies certain patches to be
used - but I already have the patches installed!

If anyone else has solved this one, I'd love to hear from them!

[I suspect it's something to do with an interaction between IE6 and the
video driver/ Active-X etc. - but haven't been able to pin it down].

Cleared cache and cookies as suggested - still no joy.
