Internet Connection Sharing works, then fails

I just setup a Netgear WGR614 wireless router on my main PC to share
my dialup connection with another PC, in which I installed a WG311
wireless card. The network seems to work fine (printer and network
drive sharing). however, Internet connection sharing only works part
of the time - I have to turn off the router (unplug it) and reboot the
PC to get it to work again after an initial use.

Router - 192.168.0.254
Internet PC - 192.168.0.1
Other PC - 192.168.0.2

DHCP server - 192.168.0.2 -> 192.168.0.51

Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?

Thanks,
Tom

Windows XP without SP2? And you are using the Zero Wireless Configuration
service? (which is on unless you specifically disable it and configure the
wireless yourself.) If so, then you could be hitting the problem where
XP insists on dropping the connection if it detects a stronger signal,
even if the strong signal is for a network with a completely different
SSID and even if you've told XP that your SSID is the preferred SSID.

The solution in that situation is to turn off the Zero configuration service
and configure by the wireless device by hand, either through the device
manager or through a program such as the configuration manager that
often accompanies Boingo [or is it the other way around?] The Linksys
or D-Link configuration program might work if you prefer not to go
through the device manager, or if your needs are more complex than
the device manager configuration is designed for [e.g., you want to
maintain several network 'profiles' for use as you travel around.]
