Internet Connection Sharing...

Last night, I networked two computers in my home using a
cross-over cable. One computer has 98SE; the other has XP
Pro. The 98SE has the Internet connection (dial-up). I
can't figure out how to share the Internet connection with
the other computer. I'd appreciate any advice or a good
URL which would explain how to do this.

(Additional information: The computer with 98SE is the
host. Both computers can see each other across the network
and share folders.)

Thanks...

Try the help in Win98se, its all there and fairly straightforward,
just follow it step by step..

Go to start, click it
scroll up to help
click it
enter "internet" in "type in the keyword to find"
at which point you get a sub menu and voilla there is
"Sharing connections" down the list

Configure 98SE as an ICS host as shown here:

ICS Installation [Win98SE]
http://www.practicallynetworked.com/...icsinstall.htm

Configure XP as an ICS client as shown here:

XP ICS - Client Setup Using the Network Setup Wizard
http://www.practicallynetworked.com/.../clientwiz.htm

If at all possible, I strongly recommend using XP, not 98SE, as the
ICS host. XP's version of ICS is much easier to set up and much more
reliable than 98SE's.
