Hi,
When I install Internet Connection sharing on "PC1", I can no longer
access servers on the internet using "PC1" although the internet
connection is made and my ISP userID and password are accepted.
"Keep-awake" bytes also flow.
I've tried FTP, mail, HTTP and news servers, none are found.
When I remove Internet Connection Sharing from Control Panel/Network,
Internet communication works fine again - and the 2 PC network still
works.
The whole thing worked fine when PC2's modem was being used (apart
from the line being dropped due, alledgedly to a bad line).
When I installed W98SE on the machines, I remember the question "how
does this machine connect to the internet" at the time (or is that in
XP ?) it was through a LAN, and worked. How do I unset that setting if
that's the problem ?
Any help greatly appreciated - otherwise it'll be a re-install (again)
starting with "Format c:" !
PS, I've tried my ISP's help line, they don't cover Internet
Connection Sharing !
Mike.
