Internet connection icon Missing

I have a Win98SE networked to a dialup ISP through a WinXP computer via a
crossover cable. Thanks to the hard work of many of you on this site, it is
finally working. Occasionally, however, the internet connection icon
disappears from the lower right hand tool bar area, and I am unable to
disconnect from the net without going over to the XP. Anybody have any
ideas on how to keep the icon present, and/or how to disconnect the 98
without it?

Install Remote Disconnect Utility on the client and the host. Get it
here, clicking "Downloads" to access it:
