Internet Connection dropping

Hello,

I am using a Linksys WRT54G router with a laptop computer and a Comcast
internet connection. The connection drops about every 20 minutes or so.
From reading the forum at Linksys' website, many people are having this
same problem with no apparent resolution. Does anyone have any idea how
to fix this or should I return the router and pick something that
actually works? Any suggestions?

What firmware? The latest?
What does "drops" mean? Windows XP loses connection? Router locks up?

Try DD-WRT firmware if you have a supported version of the Linksys
router. Otherwise return it and get a Buffalo (which is supported by
DD-WRT).
