Learn to cross-post. See:

http://www.cs.tut.fi/~jkorpela/usenet/xpost.html

So what does Internet addiction have to do with spyware, or wireless
devices? Nothing, so your post is off-topic. You deserve the respect
you have exhibited: NONE.

Internet addiction which exercises choice is far healthier than
addiction to television and the pre-programmed crap they spew out that
milieu. Yeah, right, let's get them all addicted back to the boob
tube. We certainly don't want consumers in control or informed.

Just one more way to allow self appointed 'therapists' make more money.

No it's not and there are some real lunatics running around out here
that are out of control that can only be exhibiting such behavior in
real life. Recognize it for what it is and that's people with problems
and a lot of them are out here posting.

Did you watch DateLine NBC and the TV shows about Internet predators and
chat rooms with under aged boys and girls and the predators and their
problems? Those shows were a real eye opener.

There are some fucking lunatics loose out here posting in these NG(s)
and they don't realize that they have a problem.

Considering how many humans that are on this planet, jobs have to be
invented to keep them occupied.

I also heard something interesting about how convicts who are on paroll
are not prohibited from using the internet, so people who were in jail
for something like pedophilia can create an online account and start
communicating with teens without any repercussions.

I think that's one of the reasons that it's improtant to stress online
responsibility and community watch systems - meaning, that we all
police our own communities and report anything like internet predators
to the police or a resource like cybertipline. That's my opinion at
least. It's one way to make the internet a bit safer. And besides,
there are so many great things about being online, it would be a shame
to start enforcing too many restrictions.

An eye opener in how BushCo wants to scare
folks into accepting a controlled internet, and
how gullible folks can be-- both in believing
their exaggerations, and for falling for the guv's
entrapment schemes-- either assume that kids
on the i'net are dumber than bricks.

Many kids are pretty foolish. This a very real problem.

That is definitely true...that's why places like cybertipline or law
enforcement agencies are really stressing that parents should talk to
their kids about the danger of giving away too much information. When
I was younger they just said "don't talk to strangers" but now with the
internet it's changed the culture a bit and talking to people that you
don't know, doesn't seem like such a dangerous thing.
