I also heard something interesting about how convicts who are on paroll
are not prohibited from using the internet, so people who were in jail
for something like pedophilia can create an online account and start
communicating with teens without any repercussions.
I think that's one of the reasons that it's improtant to stress online
responsibility and community watch systems - meaning, that we all
police our own communities and report anything like internet predators
to the police or a resource like cybertipline. That's my opinion at
least. It's one way to make the internet a bit safer. And besides,
there are so many great things about being online, it would be a shame
to start enforcing too many restrictions.
