Internet accessibility problem

I am not an "expert" but looking for advice/help for my daughter who
lives in Milton Keynes.
A week or so ago she had problems accessing the internet, she contacted
BT who stated that they had "improved the speed of the lines in the
area", they then reduced the speed and my daughter was then able to
access the internet.
However that problem has now returned, BT again have said that they
have improved the speed of the line. They say that there may be a fault
with the wiring in the house. The two telephones in her house are
working, she has unplugged the 'phones - changed filters, etc but
still no joy.
She has three computers on a wireless connection, none of the computers
can gain access to the internet.
BT will be testing her main BT socket at her house in a weeks time!!
Her sons are moaning at her to do something.
Has anyone any clues as to what may be the problem. Milton Keynes has
had BT cable problems in the past.
Thanks

Can you narrow this down to an estate name (don't post her full address)
then we'll be able to tell you which exchange she's on and if it's a
distance problem.

About 3.5 km from her exchange : Bradwell Abbey (which is actually on
Fishermead).

Kents Hill and Walnut Tree have been a problem area and work is supposedly
ongoing.

Milton Keynes Broadband Action Group may be able to help with additional
information :
