I bought this one for my Toshiba Satellite A15-S127, so far it works
very well, no issues until I tried to install a new driver from the
Microsoft Update site, which caused it not to work on my XP Pro
system.
I did a system restore to a previous restore point and now it's fine
again. (I've NEVER had a third-party device driver downloaded from MS
work right, don't know why I keep trying.)
It also seems to work OK with Netstumbler and Ethereal.
I have used a Siemens and a D-Link PCMCIA card in the same laptop, the
range seems to be about the same with the internal card, though it
seems to be less sensitive to the orientation. My Siemens card had to
be turned a certain direction at the kitchen table to get a decent
signal, while the internal card doesn't seem to care which way it's
turned.
If you elect to install an internal card yourself, be very careful
when connecting the antenna leads, mine seemd to be very sensitive to
getting the connectors aligned exactly right before they'd snap into
place.
It would have been very easy to apply too much pressure when all I
really needed to do was get it lined up right.

The question isn't "are there weapons of mass destruction?",
the question is "who has them now?"
