Before writing off anything, let us ask. Do you, or someone near by have a
2.4GHz phone? A 2.4GHz PC and an old microwave?
Yep, this band can have multiple uses. Try experimenting on the extremes
of using channel 10 or 11 and channel 1. Channel 11 has worked well for me
and as long as callers stay more than 6-7 feet from the base station or the
portable, I don't have problems. But occasionally the people down stairs
who also have a 2.4GHz phone can do it. But I managed to have less trouble
at channel 11.
