Here's the issue: Just recently, within the past couple weeks, my
wireless (802.11b) lan has gone flat intermittently. My network is
not the problem. When it's up, it's great. It's like this huge
interference problem. The connection still exists but according to my
Linksys WET11 bridge my Link Quality goes down to zero and sometims I
can bearly see my routers SSID. During these outages the microwave in
the kitchen upstairs (I'm in the basement) is not on. Every computer
wirelessly connected where I live is effectivly garbage when this
happens. According to my bridge and my landlady's bridge there are 7
wireless networks in this area. Ours is on channel 1 (the only one
with WEP enabled). One is on channel 11. The rest (5) are on channel
6. I've seen reports of some Dlink routers being able to "take over"
the entire spectrum, in order to up throughput. I thought maybe
someone around here is doing the same thing. However, after talking
to some of my neighbors, I question if any of them are sophisticated
enough to do this. Any ideas???
Thanks in advance,
Scott
