Have XP_Pro with Centrino and Intel Pro 802.11b. Connects
fine to about every Coffee Shop, Hotel, Airport Access Point
like a champ, except for one particular coffee shop. Snow job.
May connect once then in about half an hour unpredictably may
connect to another site. The signal is always "excellent," Five
bars 11 Mbps. However, if it connects once it probably will
disconnect within ten or fifteen minutes and then, although
still receiving "excellent" signal will not connect to another site. Others
using this AP experience no problems, only mine. DHCP assigns
a 192 IP. Move to another shop with "free" wi-fi access point
and all OK. Tried an external PCMCIA card and did the same
thing. This is a "free site," and not a T-Mobile, Wayport etc.
No problems with them. Other users have no problems. Is
it DHCP, firewall, proxsy-server. Any help gratefully appreciated.
Thanks

SOLUTION!!! Two compaies' Access Points cannot handle the Centrino
processor, chipset, and Pro wireless. Fix out to fix these two APs, but not
all fixed.Regardsn
