I have a wireless link to my ISP (via an RG1000 reprogrammed with some
Karlnet firmware) and am having some issues as of late. Communications
drops out cyclically every 10 minutes: 6-1/2 fail, 3-1/2 minute OK. During
the failure periods, I can't ping nor do anything TCP related (it seems),
yet I CAN do a link test with the access point just fine. This link test
uses SNMP which, of course, rides on UDP port 161. Thus, during failure
periods, the IP layer on up to UDP is still functional just fine...yet ICMP
and TCP drop off. The strange thing is the cyclic nature of the failure.
Cycling power on my PC, hub, or Gateway has no effect. Just WTF could this
be?
