Many thanks for your continued inquiries.
Have contacted the Canadain distributor for Asus. They have contacted
Asus in Tiawan, who were not particularily helpful. The Cdn
distributor is going to set up a test 98SE machine and see if they can
recreate the problem. Asus reported that there is no problem from
their previous tests.
This particular network that I am working on is my test network. I
maintain mostly Novell servers and networks.
In this case there is a NT4.0 server with a Dlink 804HV router,
(ingress filtering) and a 8 Port SMC 10/100/1000 router. The only
machine that is running 98SE is my personal machine as I still find I
need to make DOS boot disks, etc for repairs to clients computers.
All other machines are running 2000 and there are a number of them.
Sorry, not a fan at all of XP.
I have had no problem with either the NT4.0 server or the 2000
machines installing the Intel MT adaptor. Performance is more than
reasonable.
I have yet to try installing the card to a Novell server and as soon
as this issue is resolved, that is the next step.
Many thanks
