Insufficient memory for networking

I am trying to network my laptop and desktop computers. I
have a good connection bewteen the two and can see the
resources on each (drives etc). I am able to acces the
laptop from the desktop but when I try to acces the
desktop from the laptop I receive an insufficient memory
error from the laptop. This error occurs no mattre how
large the folder is I am trying to accces and no matter
what applicationas are open on the laptop.

Desktop is a dell running windows XP Home edition

Laptop is a toshiba running Windows 98 SE. It is a P II
with 256 RAM

ANy suggestion on what the problem might be?

That error message is very misleading. The problem is probably that
an antivirus program has changed an obscure TCP/IP setting. Please
see this Microsoft Knowledge Base article for a likely solution,
specifying a value of 15 for IRPStackSize on the XP computer:

Antivirus Software May Cause Event ID 2011

I was beginning to think I would not find the answer to
