installing AD

hi all,

I have installed Windows 2003 server in my machine.I tried to install Active Directory in my machine.I got a message that I have configure TCP/IP.So I have put the network card and set the TCP/IP properties.Now when I tried to ping I am getting a message telling that the media is disconnected.

Do I have to plug in the LAN cable in order to properly configure TCP/IP.

How to handle the "media disconnected" message.I do not want to connect
to any network.I am using it at my home.I want my ACTIVE DIRECTORY
Installed.

Try Installing the Microsoft Loopback adapter or just plug
a CAT5 into the Network card that is connected to a Switch
or Hub. If I remember correctly in needs to see a "live"
network connection to install TCP/IP
